Diploma / Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management

Objective

To provide students with a managerial orientation towards tourism and hospitality management, and appreciation of the mechanism within the hospitality and tourism industry. Students will learn the management and organization involved in the provision and consumption of hospitality and tourism products and services. Our course is designed to prepare students for supervisory and management level responsibilities in the Hospitality and Tourism sector, and equip them with an integrated knowledge of management principles and the operations of the industry.

Course Outline

There are 6 modules:

  1. Principles of Accounting
  2. Principles of Management
  3. Food and Beverage Service Operations
  4. Front Office and Housekeeping Operations
  5. Tourism Systems and the Environments
  6. Hotel Convention Sales and Services
  7. Industrial Attachment

Optional Modules:

  1. Business Statistics
  2. International Economics
  3. Organizational Behaviour & Culture
  4. Principles of Marketing.

Pre-requisites

  • Age: 16 years old and above
  • Academic Level: At least 10 years of formal education or equivalent, or pass SCI’s placement test, or one year and above of relevant work experience.
  • Language Proficiency: English Language of IELTS 5.5 and above, or GCE O-Level grade C6 or better, or pass SCI’s language proficiency test or equivalent.

Course Duration

  • 6 months institution study + 6 months industrial attachment (internship)
  • 15 hours of lesson time per week

Course Certification

Upon completion of all 6 modules and industrial attachment, those who fulfilled the required attendance and pass all academic assessments will be awarded with a Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management Certificate by Spring College International.

Objective

To provide students with an advanced managerial orientation towards tourism and hospitality management, and deeper understanding of the advanced management and organization involved in the provision and consumption of the hospitality and tourism products and services. Our course helps students to identify and understand the techniques as well as theory implied in the hospitality and tourism environment. Students will also learn to develop professional hotel competencies such as effective communication skills, customer service skills, leadership skills, teamwork and other relevant professionalism topics related to the industry.

Pre-requisites

  • Age: 16 years old and above
  • Academic Level: Relevant SCI Diploma or *other institution’s Diploma qualification, or at least 12 years of formal education (*other institution’s diploma will be based on a case by case basis to the academic level requirement
  • Language Proficiency: English Language of IELTS 5.5 and above, or GCE O-Level grade C6 or better, or pass SCI’s language proficiency test or equivalent.

Course Duration

  • 9 months study + 6 months industrial attachment (or 3 months project work)
  • 15 hours of lesson time per week

Course Certification

Upon completion of all 9 modules and industrial attachment, those who fulfilled the required attendance and pass all academic assessments will be awarded with an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Management Certificate by Spring College International.
