Preparatory Course for Singapore GCE O-Level

The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) examination is an annual national examination that is taken by school and private candidates in Singapore. The Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB), Ministry of Education (MOE) and Cambridge Assessment International Education are the joint examining authorities for the GCE O-Level examination.

The O-Level examination is equivalent to high school completion in many countries, and the results can be used for entry into pre-university courses, vocational or technical education, or the workforce.

The GCE O-Level Examination is offered to:

  • Students from mainstream schools who are taking a Secondary Four Express course or a Secondary Five Normal (Academic) course.
  • Private candidates who have met the eligibility criteria to register for the GCE O-Level examination

How to Retake O-Levels as a Private Candidate?

To be eligible to register as a GCE O-Level private candidate, students must be at least 15 years old as of January 1st of the year they are sitting for the examination. Retaking the exam as a private candidate requires a great deal of independence and self-discipline. If you don’t have the confidence to manage things on your own, consider enrolling in a private institution that offers a structured preparatory course for O-Levels.
